Jan pursued a career in A.P. Moller-Maersk Ltd. (world’s largest container shipping company) first in their finance department (economic policy advice, financial forecasts, exchange rate and interest risk management) later trading crude oil futures. Organised the meetings of the International Advisory Board for the Group Chairman. Reporting to the CEO he implemented strategic planning in the Maersk Group followed by 12 years heading the secretariat of the Ship-owner responsible for the Manufacturing companies taking Maersk’s diverse portfolio of industrial activities global.

For the Group CFO he implemented risk management across the Group and redesigned strategic value creation reporting. He was successively appointed CFO in Taiwan, Hong Kong (consolidating 50+ companies) and in Beijing implementing SAP and redesigning the finance organisation including outsourcing to shared service centres in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan. Jan is used to working with top management and Board Chairmen. With experience from more than 400 board meetings internationally, he is very familiar with running subsidiaries abroad including China and its special control and asset value protection issues.
